First born isn’t always what we assume. By definition, first born means the first to be born; the eldest. However, the Scriptures teaches us that first born has two meanings. The first born son in the Old Testament normally received double the inheritance and the role as the head of the family. Yet, TMH changed the order when the firstborn son’s heart was not that of HIS will like Esau and Jacob (Genesis 25:21-26) and even Jacob did the same with his grandsons Ephraim and Manasseh (Genesis 48:13-22). Some firstborns are stripped of their rights because of their sin as Reuben, who was Jacob’s firstborn (Genesis 35:22; 49:3-4).
So if you are ever asked or are curious on who are the firstborns of THE MOST HIGH, I have listed them below with their respected Scriptures. As a member of the firstborn nation, I have to tell you it feels good to be first in a world that puts us as the least (Matthew 19:30).
Nation: Israel (Exodus 4:22-23, Hosea 11:1)
Tribe: Ephraim (Jeremiah 31:9)
Individual: David (Psalm 89:20, 27)
